This book met my requirements for the area and gave me a few different starting points. To make full use of it, I will need to combine a couple of walks to give me the longer walk or walks that I need i.e. 8 - 10 miles. The local information is very good in the book and will be great for passing on to people on the walk/s I lead/5(5). Snowdonia is very peaceful, and our farm contains a variety of landscapes, from natural bog, ancient oak woodlands, and traditional grazing land – so there is ample opportunity on the walk to also see many bird and insect species, along with our farm animals, as we have free range pedigree pigs, pedigree Dexter cattle, Rheas, pheasants, ducks.

Wales Walking Holidays specialise in quality self-guided walking and hiking holidays for the independent traveller in various areas of Wales. Trails include the mile Wales Coast Path, (which includes the Isle of Anglesey, the Llyn Peninsula, Meirionnydd, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthen, Gower and the South Wales Coast), The North Wales Path, . Guidebook describing 30 walks in Snowdonia, Wales. Routes are mostly low level and on clear paths and showcase the region's beautiful scenery and rich history and culture. Part of a 2-volume set, this northern volume includes the Snowdon area, the Ogwen and Conwy Valleys, Betws-y-Coed, Beddgelert, Ffestiniog and the coast.

The main section of the book comprises 30 walks, each one including a key illustrating principal features such as level of difficulty and type of terrain, a route profile indicating altitude and distances as well as a fact file summarizing useful information such as start and finish points, duration, safety advice, and points of interest/5(3). Winter conditions can appear in Snowdonia anytime between November and April. Nothing is guaranteed. I have found myself winter walking or ice climbing one day then bouldering or climbing by a sunny beach the next day. Equally I've spent a week or two wandering around in low cloud and driving rain.
